Paul was born in 1961 in Cheltenham and after leaving school, studied at Cheltenham College of Art. He moved to London in 1985 where he worked as a professional artist, painting to commission for clients worldwide. In 1991 he took a year's sabbatical to travel and paint in Africa, India, Indonesia and South America. In 1993 he went as expedition artist on the first ever crossing of the Taklamakan Desert in North West China for 3 months. He now works from his studio in Hampshire and exhibits regularly around the country. Paul's passion is in finding drama in the landscape and especially favours the wildness of Scotland.
